Easy DIY Spirulina Face Mask

Okay ya'll, I must admit... I have been running around like a crazy person this week trying to meet my self imposed deadlines, drop off new inventory at local boutiques, and fitting time in  to create & keep the house clean. It's been a doozy. On top of this, I have a tax appointment tonight, a website update tomorrow, and volunteered to work for a friend this Saturday at his store! Oh,  the perks of being an over committing Gemini.

So basically, I am a very busy lady who can easily make up excuses why I should skip skincare routines and not lend my attention to any fads. But lets face it (see what I did there)...  face/skin is one of the first things we notice about others. It is our shield to this sacred body we live in and it deserves to be nurtured. So DUHHHHHH its v important we infuse love and cultivate our skin with yummy vitamins and antioxidants!! -- Oh, and I just don't want to look old...don't get me wrong, I am so grateful to age as it is a  privilege, but I sure as hell don't wanna look like I knew Gandalf before he had a beard.

Enter: Spirulina

Spirulina is one of the oldest life forms on Earth. It is the world's first superfoods, and one of the most nutrient-rich foods on Earth. Also, it is found in warm alkaline lakes in Africa and Central & South America.

The powder I use is linked here. Any powder or brand will work just make sure its  ORGANIC!

So quite honestly there are tons of different variations for this mask. I literally just used what I had which was the powder and water. Luckily we have a full house water filtration system. If you don't, be sure to use filtered or distilled water. Easy peasy! Just how I prefer my skin care regimen.

RECIPE

1 tablespoon of organic Spirulina powder

+

1 tablespoon of water

Combine together in small ramekin or in hand to create a paste. Once a smooth texture is achieved rub over clean skin- on face and neck. Allow to dry for about 20 minutes, or until mask is completely dry. ** warning** it will get a little itchy once it begins to dry. That means it's working ;) Rinse with warm water and finish with cold water.

After using Spirulina on my face my skin feels smoother, more radiant, and taut! I hope you love it! Don't forget to add a scoop of Spirulina to your next smoothie, too!!!

Love and Light, XOXO- Danae
